Food Bank

With your help we can end hunger in Douglas and Elbert counties.

Clients of the Food Bank may request food once every 30 days. The Food Bank provides each client with five to seven days worth of food, depending on Food Bank stock.  We provide three meals per day (plus snacks!) for each family member.

We also are often able to provide children’s diapers, sanitary supplies for women and seniors and personal hygiene kits. In 2012 we provided $697,803 in these services to our clients.  We often have pet food, laundry and other cleaning supplies. Additionally, each month we conduct two off-site Food Banks at low-income senior housing units. Historically we've provided approximately $75,000 of food/hygiene assistance per year to our senior citizens.

Donate Cash

For every dollar you donate we are able to buy and distribute three pounds of food to one of the hundreds of needs people in our community. Another way to look at it is like this-The Task Force can purchase $3.69 worth of food for only $1.00!  This is just one way we maximize your financial donations.

It easy to donate right now - Click here to Donate.

Do you realize that at the end of the school year in May of 2012 there were over 750 homeless children in our area? For more information on homeless children in Douglas County, visit the Douglas County Homeless Liaison at:
